This is a good article about Mondragon. It has always been one of my models for a co-operative socialism. The early US populists would have called it "co-operative democracy." Like others here, I have a small quibble over the use of "capitalism," which requires the primacy of the market for capital (not other kinds of markets). Over the past decades, I have worked on keeping my mind free of ideology, but I still can't see how a society of worker co-ops is in anyway compatible with the capital market. They seem fundamentally opposed. That may be a semantic quibble, and I agree with those who say, whatever works to change the system.
