I agree 101%.
The more we distance ourselves from our selfish needs, the more loving we become as human beings.
I have also realized and am embracing my social development by the day.
The need to develop myself has decreased significantly, and the need to develop myself socially has increased.
I think it's the sign of times for people like us that must go out and help.
Big hearts must do Big things.

My uniform looks to me like those they wear in prisons. Its pretty fucked up.
You make a good point about wondering whether we need many extras today.
"Would we make the same choices if we could work in the way best suited to us?"
My answer is a profound No. During my recent holidays I didn't care about taking supplements, at times I didn't care even to eat. I just loved being free.
Getting closer to our hobbies doesn't make us lazier, it make us happier, more creative, more helpful for the world.

If I don't play I can't concentrate and I can't create and if I can't create there is no point to live. I think I agree with the grasshopper.

I started reading your article and wanted to leave a comment.
You always stir my attention and that's a good thing.
I have chosen the lonely path of self publishing so I can speak exactly as I mean to speak.
What you are referring here is happening everywhere: in boxing for example there are the promoters who decide who their fighter will fight.
That is good for them not necessarily good for their fighters and not even for the fans.
But since recently fighters have decided to step up and self promote themselves like Floyd Mayweather.
In films the actors also have contract that limits their expression and profits.
Again the solution comes from expansion, actors become producers for a larger piece of the pie and more expression.
Huge example is Tom Cruise who self finances many of his films as main producer.
That gives him the right to be in charge of many things and it works for him.
For many artists to be involved in more things than just the art is a pain.
But I prefer the pain than just the carefree option that a contract provides.
That's my opinion anyway.

I'm a big comic book reader and I know that there is a decline too in sales.

Comic cons do not rely anymore on the comic books, they rather rely on guest star appearances from tv shows and films but its not the same.

In books, I read only when there is a need to read one, which happens not so often.

It's no surprise that big publishing companies invest in celebrities more than classic book authors.

For example if Tom Cruise decides to write a biography , publishing houses will battle with each other like wild dogs on who will promote it first.

Celebrities have thousands even millions of followers and that means big business.

My first book I will self publish , at least this way it will be out when it needs to be out.
