Very cool ideas here, thank you! I wonder if the loss of hope is linked to the greater availability of news and social media, which tends to skew negative. So we all get the impression that things are going downhill when they're really not, and then we project that image to our expectations for the future.
Interesting concept. Some of the nft examples are not well chosen in my opinion. Coming specifically for Tesla, who are doing more for the environment than most large companies by directly reducing tailpipe emissions seems a miss. Likewise, if the world reaches 2C warming, forests wouldn't just die. They eat the CO2 and often thrive. It depends on where they are and a lot of other factors. Reductions in sea ice are better examples I think. Maybe the shifting ocean currents could be another.
Another great article and lots of food for thought here! Thank you. Curious how this fits among the trend for solopreneurship, which seems to be lots of people's go-to mechanism to 'escape' and achieve 'freedom'. Also, there is a call for better institutions to protect us from the dangers of AI, for example. Would those also come under the umbrella of companies in your definition?
This is so interesting, and I'm glad you're at a point where you can fund your exploration of this kind of thing. As I'm reading through, I'm just thinking "where do I sign up?" 😂
